    Day 14

I had it all planned out, I was going to get up early go to the gym, swim 20 laps, get some oatmeal from Starbucks and have a really great day. I got on the scale, lost zero pounds, not even 0.2 ounces. Nada. Okay, no problem. I drank a glass of water (I should have added that to my 30-day routine to do every morning as the first thing on my belly…but it’s not too late to start), made some green tea to take with me and headed to the gym.

I did a light workout on the recumbent bike (two miles) and did an ab workout and hit the pool only to find out it was closed. Some dummy brought a glass bottle into the pool area and of course, dropped it, shattering the glass, which ended up in the pool. They had to drain the entire pool, which will be down for a couple of days. The main pools inside were overflowing with classes and dedicated lap swimmers. Every lane was full. I sat in the sauna.

I planned to walk around the trail near my home, which is the fastest way to knock out 6,000 steps. The weather was rainy all day and the trail wet. Nope!

I planned to walk on the treadmill, but the weather got my knee achy. So I hit the bike at home. As I mentioned, the Vivofit doesn’t count steps the same way when I’m on the bike, so I put in 5 miles. Thank God for Luke Cage (Season 2). I got through Ep. 4. I can’t wait to find out how this Bushmaster/Mariah Stokes feud is going to end and (spoiler alert!) how was Bushmaster able to knock Luke Cage out?!

I got in my 10,000 steps despite the hiccups. I’m on my way to forming a new habit.

While my plans didn’t work out, I didn’t let it stop me from reaching my goal. How are you coming along? Let me know on Twitter with the hashtag #30Days!
