My journey into veganism began in 1987 through 1989. In 1987 I gave up read meat; in 1988 I gave up chicken; on January 1, 1989 I gave up seafood and dairy. That was when I was 25. So, I’ve been vegan most of my life.

Honestly, there was no intent on becoming vegan because I didn’t know what the word meant back then.  I just felt it was a good idea to stop eating meat products for superior health. It was the best decision I’ve ever made.

I know many people who are considering a plant-based eating lifestyle (veganism), but have excuses for why they haven’t dived in yet. I have heard them all. Here are just the 10 most popular excuses:

I’ll get started after the holidays. The only problem is that there is always a holiday around the corner! Let us not forget about birthdays and special occasions. The best time to start is before holidays. The best time to start is now! This isn’t a “diet,” it’s a way of life and the sooner you can navigate eating fruits and vegetables throughout the holidays and special occasions, the better.
