The Black-owned plant-based food company, Everything Legendary, is offering customers a healthy alternative without sacrificing flavor. Everything Legendary was founded by Duane Myko, Danita Claytor and Chef Jumoke Jackson in 2019. The trio is on a mission to promote healthier eating habits within the Black community.

Everything Legendary was inspired by the people closest to the owners. Co-founder Myko witnessed his mother’s journey with lupus for more than 35 years while Claytor’s mother died from cancer. Health problems were impacting their loved ones and it sparked a mission to educate the community on the benefits of a healthy vegan lifestyle.

Many people are starting to pay extra attention to their health which has led to a rise in veganism. People are beginning to change what they consume. However, that does not mean they want to give up the taste and flavors they are used to. The products offered consist of Legendary Ground, Legendary Burgers and Dragon Wyngz. The products are made from all-natural ingredients that include Water, Pea Protein, Expeller-Pressed Coconut Oil, Canola Oil and seasonings.

Everything Legendary even offers customers potential recipes to make with their products. On their website, customers can find instructions for making Vegan Shiitake Burgers With Sun-Dried Tomato-Chimichurri Aioli, Smokin’ Hot Vegan Tacos with Poblano Pico and Crunchy Avocado Lime Slaw, Classic Sausage and Peppers and more.

Jackson, Claytor and Myko knew their Vegan-friendly, meat-free burger would be a success and took their business to make a deal on the series Shark Tank. The trio initially sought $300,000 for 10% equity but ended up securing a $300,000 for 22% equity deal with Mark Cuban. Since the show, the couple has been able to expand their business and increase their revenue.

Customers can purchase Everyday Legendary products online as well as in stores including Target, Walmart and Publix. According to an Instagram post from the company, Publix has officially expanded the products to 850 stores across seven states. Those states are Alabama, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia. Select HBCUs are also able to feast on Everything Legendary products on campus. The company recently announced that Bethune Cookman became the 5th HBCU to offer the plant-based option to students and faculty beginning this fall!

For foodies looking for new plant-based recipes, or inspiration along the healthy-living journey, Everything Legendary encourages people to sign up for their newsletter. Signing up for the newsletter will also keep customers in the know on new product launches and special promotions.
