The Hub Entertainment Watch List: Queens Court

What’s better than one queen? Some may say three queens, and the show “Queens Court” explores that concept with matters of the heart. The Peacock original series stars three well-known faces, Tamar Braxton, Evelyn Lozada, and Nivea. It is produced by Will Packer Media as well as Lighthearted Entertainment, and it is hosted by the husband and wife duo Holly Robinson Peete and Rodney Peete.

“Queens Court” began streaming last month and consists of 10 episodes ranging from 50 to 58 minutes in length. The series seeks to help Tamar, Evelyn and Nivea find love and a new romantic partner to share their lives with. Each of the women has found success in their career but has not managed to find the same success in their personal life.

Braxton and Lozada are reality television all-stars who went through public relationships and had their love lives depicted in front of cameras. However, R&B singer Nivea is more of a reality television rookie, but she’s no stranger to the spotlight, and neither are some of the men she has been linked to. The singer was married to The-Dream from 2004 to 2008 and was engaged to Lil Wayne twice.

The series’ producers brought in Holly and Rodney Peete to guide the women through the process since the two have been married for more than 20 years. The Peete’s assists each of the women through the ups and downs of dating 21 prospective suitors and offers their honest advice when the opportunity arises. In addition to developing relationships with their prospective suitors, the women also end up developing a sisterhood amongst each other and start to lean on each other for support during the dating process.

Viewers are able to see how all of the men interact with each of the ladies as well as how they interact with each other. Throughout the show, the Queens and their hopeful Kings are put to the test with various tasks. The hosts even throw surprises ranging from inviting friends and family to the castle for cookouts (and more than food is grilled) to having the men move into their space. Ultimately each task is put in place to help each woman get one step closer to finding a King fit for the Queens.
