The Weekend Recap: New Babies, Relationships and More

The Weekend Entertainment Recap: January 16th

Singer-songwriter John Legend and his wife Chrissy Teigen kicked off the weekend by welcoming their third child on Friday. The news was announced during Legend’s performance at a private concert. Teigen and Legend also share a 6-year-old daughter, Luna, and a 4-year-old son, Miles. The new addition comes after the couple has previously (publicly) experienced a loss during pregnancy in 2020. The Legends are keeping more details on their bundle of joy to themselves at this time.

Although Lori Harvey did not welcome a new baby this weekend, she did come forward with a new boo. The step-daughter of Steve Harvey has made headlines for years as she has been linked to a plethora of “high-value men” including Memphis Depay, Michael B. Jordan, Future and most recently Damson Idris. As the 26-year-old celebrated another trip around the sun, her new romantic interest took to social media to post his beloved. The 31-year-old Snowfall actor posted an image of the two full of smiles and wishing her a happy birthday. Social media detectives have been speculating that the two were an item since last month, but now there are images to match and neither seems to deny the claims.

Lori Harvey is the only person starting a new relationship. Controversial rapper Kanye “Ye” West has reportedly tied the note to a former Yeezy employee. Less than two months after finalizing his divorce from Kim Kardashian, Ye is believed to have married Australian architect Bianca Censori. TMZ first reported the news about the wedding ceremony on Friday, although the couple hasn’t filed for the marriage certificate yet to make it legal. Censori serves as head of architecture for the Yeezy clothing brand and joined the company in November 2020. The two were spotted in Beverly Hills together last week and are rumored to have enjoyed their honeymoon at a luxury resort in Utah. Fans also noticed that Ye may have hinted at his new relationship in a recently released song titled “Censori Overload.”

Similarly to Kanye West, trouble seems to follow rapper Blueface. Whether he is fighting with his girlfriend Chrisean Rock, or getting arrested for attempted murder, Blueface is frequently making headlines for problematic reasons rather than his music. The “Thotianna” rapper began a social media exchange by alleging to have more money than DJ Akademiks, which prompted him to respond. Akademiks is no stronger controversy, either. The host of the Off The Record podcast has been called out by other artists (including Megan Thee Stallion and Doja Cat) in the past. The two went back and forth on Twitter, with Blueface screenshotting stats on their respective rap careers and DJ Akademiks taking aim at Blueface’s docu-series on Zeus.

The jabs seemed to be subdued as Saturday came to an end, but it won’t be long before these two are back in the headlines again.

Damar Hamlin has been a topic of conversation as well. The 24-year-old Buffalo Bills safety first captured the nation’s attention after suffering cardiac arrest during a Monday night football game against the Cincinnati Bengals. However, after spending days in the hospital, the football player began showing remarkable signs of improvement and was discharged. Hamlin has made even more strides in his recovery as it was announced that he visited his teammates at the Bills’ facility in Buffalo on Saturday. Those in attendance shared the good news with photos and posts praising Hamlin on social media. Since Hamlin’s injury first occurred the athlete has received an abundance of support from fellow players, his family and fans. Millions of dollars were donated through GoFundMe for his “Chasing M’s Foundation” toy drive.

I saw Damar today & bawled my eyes out! What a miracle to see him walking🥹🫶🏻 We are blessed! #LoveForDamar #BillsMafia
