    Weekend Entertainment Recap: October 17th

Nicki Minaj and fellow female rapper Latto kicked off the weekend with a very public feud. It all began after the Queen of the Barbz hopped on live to address her song “Super Freaky Girl,” being nominated for a Grammy in the Pop category rather than rap.

She followed up her comments by calling out Latto’s song “Big Energy,” which is nominated for a Grammy in the Rap category. This prompted Latto to address Minaj and incited a back-and-forth Twitter beef between the women.

Nicki Minaj fired on Latto referring to her as a “Karen” and a “Scratch Off.”  Everything really went left once Latto proceeded to leak a private conversation between the two. Their feud even spilled over to some of the other rap girlies such as Sukihana and Chika. A resolution to the feud seems unlikely, but Nicki Minaj has deleted her Tweets.

Although Megan Thee Stallion was not involved in a rap feud, she was still dealing with her own set of issues as her home was broken into ahead of her first Saturday Night Live hosting opportunity. The H-Town Hottie was allegedly robbed of more than $300,000 in jewelry, cash and electronics after her Los Angeles home was broken into by two men.

Thee Stallion addressed the break-in by highlighting that fortunately no one was hurt. Despite the robbery, she still continued hosting SNL this weekend.

Chicago rapper, G Herbo, was also in harm’s way as alleged gunfire went off during his performance on-stage at Clark Atlanta’s homecoming. The rapper was mid-performance when the shot rang out leading to commotion and chaos amongst the audience. No injuries or fatalities have been reported relating to his performance.

However, four people were wounded in an unrelated incident early Sunday morning outside of Atlanta University Center’s Robert W. Woodruff Library, according to NBC News.

While this weekend was loaded with drama, there was a bit of positivity sprinkled in. Acting husband and wife duo Trai Byers and Grace Gealey Byers announced that they are expecting their first child together after six years of marriage. The couple is best known for their roles as Andre Lyon and Anika Calhoun in the Lee Daniels hit series, Empire.

Grace revealed that the couple was expecting during Trai’s opening night on Broadway. She could be seen in a photo alongside her husband and holding her baby bump. The couple has not provided any additional details regarding the pregnancy.
