James’ first return to Cleveland in 2010 when he was a member of the Miami Heat was an ugly scene. The angry crowd booed James throughout while making chants like “Akron hates you,” and wearing t-shirts that read “LeBum” on the front.
Things should be very different when James’ Lakers roll into town in November. James returns as the former leader of the city’s only professional sports championship in nearly 60 years and the greatest Ohio athlete since Jim Brown. Expect a warm welcome from the Cleveland faithful who’ll be grateful for the 2016 championship and James’ charitable deeds in Northeast Ohio during his second stint with the Cavaliers.
