Kendrick Lamar to Headline 2025 Super Bowl Halftime Show

Kendrick Lamar is showing he is not slowing down his winning streak any time soon. It was announced Sunday, February 9, that the Compton-born rapper will perform at the 2025 Apple Music Super Bowl LIX Halftime show by Apple Music, Roc Nation and the NFL.

“What’s the deal everybody? My name is Kendrick Lamar and I’ll be performing at the Super Bowl ‘59 Halftime show,” Lamar announces in a promotional Instagram reel. “Will you be pulling up? I hope so.”

The reel features Lamar in a classic eye-appealing wide shot on a football field in front a large backdrop of the American flag.

“You know it’s only one opportunity to win a championship,” he cleverly continues. “No round twos.”

It’s only fitting the rapper performs, as he’s proved himself to be a champion in a world-renowned decision following his favored rap beef with Drake and release of Billboard chart topper, “Not Like Us.”

This will be Lamar’s second time performing at the Super Bowl as he was on the all-star line up in 2022 along with super producer Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Mary J. Blige, 50 Cent and Eminem. This year, the game is scheduled to take place in New Orleans at the Caesar’s Superdome on February 9, 2025, and it will air on Fox.

Lamar’s company, pgLang, will oversee the creative direction of his performance. While Kdot has already secured his status as a West Coast legend in rap, he continues to hold it down for the genre and represent.

“Rap music is still the most impactful genre to date,” he said in a statement. “And I’ll be there to remind the world why. They got the right one.”

“Few artists have impacted music and culture as profoundly as Kendrick Lamar,” said the Head of Music at the NFL, Seth Dudowsky, in the league’s statement. “Time and time again, Kendrick has proven his unique ability to craft moments that resonate, redefine, and ultimately shake the very foundation of hip-hop. We’re excited to collaborate with Kendrick, Roc Nation, and Apple Music to deliver another unforgettable Halftime Show.”

Ironically, last year’s Super Bowl performance-headlined by Usher-is the most watched halftime show of all time. Let’s see if Kdot can continue his winning streak and top this record as well.
