White nationalism is on overdrive in the U.S., and this movement has gone from whispers and dog whistles to full-blown chaos in its attempt to cling to power. It’s hijacking the executive and legislative branches while desperately trying to silence the courts, media and the will of the people.
Now that the fear is setting in, the distractions are getting louder and dumber. Random globe-trotting photo ops, cartoonish executive orders, economic threats—anything to deflect from the fact that their grip is slipping. They’re taking it a step further with their newly signed executive “Restoring Truth and Sanity to American History” executive order. Translation: rewrite the past to center whiteness and white supremacy, erasing everything that doesn’t fit into their fairy tale version of America.
This isn’t just about textbooks; it is about controlling what we remember so they can control what we believe and, ultimately, what we allow. It’s part of a global playbook of fascism: distort the truth, break the narrative and whitewash reality.
But they can’t erase what’s already in us.
We fight back with memory, truth and what Jacob Carruthers called intellectual warfare. This is about more than defending history—it’s about using it as a weapon for liberation.
