Holly Robinson Peete Says Sharon Osbourne ‘Complained’ She Was ‘Too Ghetto’ for ‘The Talk’

In the wake of the Piers Morgan backlash, Holly Robinson Peete has spoken out against Sharon Osbourne, claiming she once complained that the star was “too ghetto.”

“I’m old enough to remember when Sharon complained that I was too ‘ghetto’ for #theTalk…then I was gone,” Peete tweeted. “I bring this up now bc I was mortified watching the disrespectful condescending tone she took w/her co host who remained calm & respectful because…she HAD to. 🤦🏽‍♀️ 🤷🏽‍♀️ #fbf.”

She is, of course, referring to Osbourne’s unabashed defense of Morgan, whose crude criticisms of Meghan Markle’s interview with Oprah Winfrey led to his termination.

    Osbourne denies Peete’s claims.

“In response to Holly Robinson Peete’s accusation of me getting her fired from The Talk, I am sharing an e mail sent to me from Holly one month after she was let go by CBS,” she wrote on Twitter. “As I have stated before, I have never had the ability/authority to get anyone fired from The Talk.”

You weaponised your whiteness, White woman's tears with such arrogance in your ignorance of racism as a power construct. You didn't deserve Sheryl Underwood's measured response. I would've verbally eviscerated you.

Good you apologise- where's Sheryl's? Was Piers Morgan worth it?

    — Dr Shola Mos-Shogbamimu (@SholaMos1) March 12, 2021

Osbourne’s defense of Morgan’s harassment of Markle was dripping with white privilege and (literal) white tears. The daytime talk show announced that the show had been placed on a hiatus until the matter is resolved.

In other words, the network is trying to figure out how to deal with Osbourne.

And while Osbourne works hard to save her job and her reputation, Tina Knowles, the mother of megastar, Beyonce Knowles, is backing Peete all the way.

“She was so wrong and inappropriate and she really took her White privilege to the max,” Knowles wrote of Osbourne. “You [Holly] are one of the classiest people I know! Far more classy than she will ever be!”

“How dare she!!!” Knowles added. “They sure didn’t stop a thing you are still here as beautiful and busy as ever! Booked and Busy baby!!!!”
