Clemson at Florida State 10/27
Florida State lost to Clemson the past three seasons under Jimbo Fisher. While new coach Willie Taggart earned good track record for his time at USF and Oregon, you’d be hard-pressed to find fans in Tallahassee who expect him to be an improvement over Fisher. Florida State still has plenty of talent and sits in a hotbed for football recruiting. But this game will show how far Taggart has to go to get the Seminoles back on a level where they can compete for championships.
Clemson enters year four of this current run of conference dominance, but will need to keep improving to become the “Alabama of the ACC.” With the talent they have returning on defense, and elite players across the offense, the Tigers should roll through the conference once again. A road trip to Florida State certainly won’t be the easiest game on the schedule, but a team with the ceiling of Clemson should dispatch them. If they are successful, they could be a force come January as well.
