    Black Women Tried and You Tried Us

    Once again, Black women voters, came out and overwhelmingly voted in their—and everyone else’s, best interests—and Kamala Harris still lost. Like a replay of Trump vs. Clinton in 2016, 53% of white women voters voted for Trump, which is up 8 points from 2016. Fifty-three percent of white women voters stood in line and voted for a rapist. Black women are tired of carrying elections just to be the only ones who are standing on the right side of history, and consistently at that, but the first to be harmed by rightwing policies. Because we will never have the privileges that come with being male and being white, we are consistently treated unjustly by sexism and racism and therefore more keenly aware of what justice should look like.

    Some voters are already expressing regret over their decisions, but there will be more.

    When young white girls have slip ups that could ruin their futures and white students with disabilities are not able to go to public schools, the ramifications of voting for Trump will be more obvious, but some are already experiencing the consequences of their own actions.   One Trump supporter in Texas, Angel Rodriguez, shared on a Tiktok that his Trump supporter neighbors would not allow their children to play with him because his children are Hispanic, and even threatened to shoot in the air if their children came over to play. Italians and Irish have successfully integrated themselves into whiteness because they were always European.

    To be Latino means to be part of an ethnicity made up of mostly mestizos as well as mulattos—there is no integration into whiteness—and many of them are unaware of that.

    Latino MAGA regrets voting Donald Trump;

    "They (Trump supporters) don't want to play with my kids in my neighborhood"_ Angel Rodriguez

    Many Latinx immigrants think they are immune from being behind the wall Trump almost built, not knowing that Project 2025 seeks to repeal DACA and eradicate chain immigration and birthright citizenship, which will have disastrous results for many of his Latinx supporters.

    Still, Black women are devastated now, and even have been ridiculed because they have decided to part ways with people who voted for Trump. Imagine be patronized for taking a stand against people who have voted against their best interest and couldn’t take a stand themselves. Black women are the first on the losing end of the loss of reproductive rights. Not only are we far more likely to die in childbirth, but we are also more likely to be impoverished by motherhood. During a recession, Black people are more likely to lose their jobs first. When it comes to school choice, Black children are disproportionately negatively affected by the use of school vouchers. Black women are affected negatively across the board by legislation that repeals rights and advancements for minorities and women.

    We are incensed now because we know where there is smoke, there is fire.

    The minorities to whom Trump appealed want so much to maintain the slight privileges they have, and to forgo the oppression that holds them back. It is human nature, even if it is not derived of advance thought, it is cured by it; these people are not advanced thinkers. The desire to have a life that is better than others and to be reminded of that privilege can lend itself to cheering on someone who is harming others and blinds people to their own marginalization. They do not think that the leopard will eat their faces, but just because the leopard lets you stand next to him does not mean you are still not being hunted, and it definitely does not mean you’ve made the leap.

    Black women know danger when we see it, because we see it all the time. We are not and have never been viewed in society’s hierarchy as better or equal to any other race, nor are we viewed the same or equally as men. Our empathy prevails in a world that is constantly unempathetic to us.

    So many of his supporters will eventually see the negative results of Trump’s presidency, that Black women tried to tell you about, but hey, you never listen to us anyway.
