    Brewers Pitcher Booed…Finally

You could call it a tale of two cities.

Brewers pitcher Josh Hader did not receive the same warm reception he got from his home fans when he entered Thursday’s game in San Francisco.

Hader was loudly booed during his bullpen appearance against the Giants—his first road game since racist and homophobic tweets surfaced from his account. The posts, which date back to 2011, included several uses of the N-word and support for the KKK. MLB did not fine or suspend Hader for the tweets. The league instead opted to make Hader participate in sensitivity training.

“Like I’ve said, I can’t control what people are going to say to me,” Hader said after the game. “I made mistakes in my earlier years. I’ve just got to go out and focus on what I’ve got to do, and that’s get outs and help this team win.”

The reaction from Giants fans was a drastic change from the reception Hader received from Brewers fans last week.  in his first home appearance since the controversy, the All-Star reliever was showered with a standing ovation when his number was called against the Dodgers on July 21st.

“I don’t like what I said back then and obviously regret what came out,” Hader told the San Francisco Chronicle. “We live and learn as human beings. We’re not perfect. You learn from what you do and become a better person from it.”
