Regina King: ‘I Love When I Feel Spiritually Centered and Connected’

Regina King has played some of the most iconic roles in Hollywood.

We’ve loved her role as the stripper candy in Candy in “The Best Man,” as Coretta Lipp in “Ally McBeal” for her role in and Steve Harvey’s “Think Like a Man.”

The actress, 50, sat down for an interview with Health Magazine, where she shared her secrets to looking and feeling young.

“I love when I eat right and when I feel spiritually centered and connected. I love when I’m meditating—that ebbs and flows. Sometimes I pray, sometimes I meditate, and sometimes it’s just about being in nature,” she told them. “My mom just passed, so it’s been a rough time, and I haven’t been able to meditate. But I have been able to talk to God and be in nature and be present in the beauty of that.”

King is in fantastic shape. But she admits that her diet is not all healthy. But balance is the key to life.

‘The fortunate and unfortunate part about me is that I love food—healthy food and not-so-healthy food. I go for salty and sweet foods—and love pizza and chips!” says King. “Oh, and a warm brownie with vanilla ice cream! But I also don’t feel deprived when I eat healthy stuff, so I think that’s good.”

And as for her flawless skin…

“So, I always wash my face before bed. I’ve always moisturized, too. Now I use argan oil on my face. Your skin changes—it’s different in your 20s than it is in your 30s than it is in your 40s and so on. So you have to constantly be looking at your complexion and assessing what it needs.”
