    At this point in our lives, it’s pretty safe to assume that we all understand and appreciate the appeal of online shopping and its convenience. They are small, local vintage dealers and up-and-coming designers who are so brilliant at bringing fresh designs and perspectives that they are redefining the shopping experience. 

    Black-owned home decor retail stores can be found from coast to coast and all around the country. They offer a wide assortment of home goods that range from the most unique pottery pieces to statement couches and everything in between. If you are planning a trip or simply looking for inspiration, we highly recommend adding these seven spots to your must-visit list.

    Tariq Dixon discovered his love for interior design when he moved to Bed-Stuy, and this passion eventually led to the birth of TRNK in 2013. 

    Located in Tribeca, TRNK isn’t just a shop. It offers a range of experiences, serving as a design studio, curatorial platform, and retailer. Inside, you’ll find a diverse selection of contemporary pieces, both made in-house on Jay Street and sourced from talented global designers. From ’60s-inspired puffer chairs to beautifully sculpted lamps, they have something special for everybody. 

    Dixon also organizes thought-provoking exhibitions that explore issues of race, identity, and cultural bias in design. Proceeds go towards supporting organizations like the Ali Forney Center and The Black Youth Project 100.
