3. He is the first Arizona Wildcat to go No. 1 in the NBA Draft
The University of Arizona used to known as a factory for future NBA point guards. Steve Kerr, Damon Stoudamire, Mike Bibby, Jason Terry and Gilbert Arenas were all drafted between 1988 and 2001. But none of those guys were selected as the number one overall pick. Ayton is the highest Wildcat’s draft pick since the Minnesota Timberwolves selected Derrick Williams with the second overall pick in the 2011 draft.
