Even If He Isn’t Finished With Music, Expect More Projects For Him On Screen Soon
Riley hasn’t retired from music, although he hasn’t made an album with The Coup since 2012, and his side project Street Sweeper Social Club with Tom Morello of Rage Against the Machine last put out an album in 2010. He has been a part of two singles as recently as 2014, but has been dedicated to his film in recent years. The Coup did record an original soundtrack for the film.
The soundtrack will be a significant musical output even if it feels secondary to the film, but moving forward Riley continues to be pursuing a career in visual storytelling. While he hasn’t announced his next project yet, he recently signed a deal with Media Res, a TV and film production company headed by former HBO executive Michael Ellenberg.
The script deal will be for an unrevealed television series, according to Deadline.com. The project will be shopped to premium cable outlets.
