Tyreek Hill Covering Salary for Staffer Suspended by NFL Over TD Celebration Recording

Tyreek Hill is the NFL’s fastest man on the field, and now he’s using that speed to quickly help out a friend after he was suspended by the NFL.

In Week 6, Hill scored a TD, grabbed the phone of 20-year-old NFL cameraman Kevin Fitzgibbons and recorded his celebratory backflip. It was a great viral moment, and everyone in the stadium loved it, including Fitzgibbons who cheered as the Cheetah flipped while holding his phone.

Afterward, the clip went viral and fans were treated to another great touchdown celebration.

But it wasn’t all good for Fitzgibbons as we all learned today that the NFL suspended the young staffer for breaking protocol and enjoying the moment with Hill, his teammates and the fans.

“They said regardless if I knew the celebration was coming or not, I still had to be disciplined and that I shouldn’t have jumped on the sidelines after the play,” said Fitzgibbons. “One of the best moments of my life turned upside down in a matter of seconds. I get why the NFL had to make this decision and wish I could’ve done something to prevent it, but I’m thankful for the memory Tyreek gave me.”

The No Fun League strikes again, this time against a 20-year-old.

But Tyreek wasn’t having that, so after he learned of the punishment, he quickly stepped in and announced that he was paying Fitzgibbons’ salary for the rest of the year.

“I told him I was going to cover his salary, whatever the NFL was going to pay him or whatever,” said Hill. “I told him I was going to make sure that I do what’s right and take care of you, make sure you’re not out of a job. That’s my guy.”

Hill and the young cameraman have an existing relationship as the latter created content with the 7x Pro Bowler when he was in Kansas City.

While the NFL revoked his credential, the league offered Fitzgibbons other content-creating responsibilities.

We’ll see what he decides to do. But for now, he and Hill will have the opportunity to partner once again and create content that everyone can enjoy without the threat of being punished for being an excited 20-year-old.
