The Weekend Entertainment Recap: June 26th

“I’m going to stick beside him” appears to be the code Summer Walker is living by as she continues to make headlines for her relationship with BMF actor, Lil Meech. The two have been a rumored item for the past few months and during that time, their relationship has been put in the spotlight. Most recently the two were feuding with comedian Jess Hilarious, who called the actor “smelly.” Summer Walker nor Lil Meech appreciated the comments which prompted them to respond on social media.

Lil Meech posted DMs sent to him by none other than Jess Hilarious and Summer Walker was there to chime in as well. The “Session 32” singer called Jess Hilarious “weird” for her comments and called out blogs for constantly publicizing her relationship. Jess Hilarious has yet to take back her remarks but she did wish them well while walking the red carpet at the BET Awards.

While Summer Walker called out Jess Hilarious and the blogs, a viral designer was busy calling out Louis Vutton’s new men’s creative director, Pharrell Williams. Fashion designer, Kellie Ford has been making her rounds on social media after a clip of her taking aim at Pharrell and Louis Vuitton. The designer went viral in 2021 for repurposing LV’s signature shopping bag and creating a stylish new handbag out of it. Now, Louis Vuitton has a bag that she claims is similar to the one she made. The fashion house nor Pharrell have addressed the allegations at this time.

    I love @Pharrell and @Louis Vuitton but this wild … a collab would have worked , hell a invite tonthe fashion show would have too.. #louisvuitton #pharellwilliams #designer #kellieford #fly4i #custom

R&B singer Jacquees also made headlines this weekend after a mugshot of him with a swollen lip and bruising began to circulate. Jacquees was arrested in Atlanta on Friday on charges of simple battery and obstruction of law enforcement officers. The singer was released on bond and took to social media to post photos letting his fans know “it’s all love wit me…always.” There are visible marks on the signer’s face in some of the photos, however, the circumstances surrounding any possible altercations remain unclear.

Like Jacquees, football legend Deion Sanders was fairly positive despite being faced with a setback. Sanders is recovering from emergency surgery to treat blood clots in his body, but he had the support of his family to uplift his spirits. Part of that included a diamond cross chain that was gifted to him by his son, Deion Jr. The Colorado football coach has had issues with his blood flow in the past and even had his left big toe and second toe amputated.

The weekend came to an end with the 2023 “BET Awards,” in which rappers Drake and GloRilla led with the most nominations. The ceremony celebrated 50 years of Hip Hop throughout the telecast and award categories include “Album of the Year,” “Video of the Year,” “Best Female Hip Hop Artist,” “Best Male Hip Hop Artist,” “Best New Artist,” “Best Movie” and more. This year’s winners included talents such as Beyoncé, Latto, Teyana Taylor and Coco Jones. Busta Rhymes was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award and viewers were able to see performances from artists including Patti LaBelle, GloRilla, T.I, Master P, Davido, Chief Keef and more.
