The Weekend Entertainment Recap: January 30th

As of Friday, Kanye “Ye” West has been named as the suspect involved in a Ventura County Sheriff’s Department investigation. Ye is under investigation for alleged battery after the sheriff’s office received a complaint about a confrontation. The Chicago native left the scene before sheriff’s deputies arrived, according to TMZ. Ye could be seen arguing with a paparazzi before walking over to a woman who was filming him from a car. During the exchange, Ye grabbed the phone, threw it and returned to his SUV. The incident took place near a sports complex where North West had a scheduled basketball game. No one was injured in the confrontation, and there have been no arrests made.

While Ye argued with fans and paparazzi, Kylie Jenner (who is Ye’s former sister-in-law) was called out by LisaRaye McCoy. McCoy accused Jenner of copying a design for a dress that was made by one of her good friends, Kevin Arnett. The actress posted side-by-side videos of Jenner and herself wearing a dress with a Lion on the shoulder. McCoy wore the dress in her signature white color and Jenner wore it in black. The caption stated, “It’s nice to see others @kyliejenner copy and try to duplicate it in their way but we did it 1st baby.”

Rick Ross was all smiles this weekend as the rapper celebrated his 47th birthday. “The Boss” brought in his birthday on January 28th and celebrated at the popular adult entertainment club, Booby Trap On The River. Ross even had fellow rappers Drake and Offset pay him a visit at the club. The DJ gave Ross a birthday shoutout as bottle girls walked through with a happy birthday sign and sparklers.

Hollywood sensation, Keke Palmer, was also full of smiles this weekend as she hosted a “Once Upon A Baby,” themed shower and released gorgeous maternity photos. The actress announced her pregnancy to the world back in December and it was recently revealed that she will be welcoming a baby boy with her boyfriend Darius Jackson. Palmer shared photos of the magical fairytale decor with her fans on social media and gave fans a look into the party on her Instagram story.

Sports fans got a message from Damar Hamlin this weekend as the Buffalo Bills safety continues his recovery process. The 24-year-old spoke publicly for the first time since his cardiac arrest and thanked fans, family and doctors for the support he has received over the last few weeks. Hamlin first began making major headlines when he collapsed after making a tackle during a football game against the Cincinnati Bengals on Jan 2. While addressing the public, Hamlin noted the importance of him waiting to speak publicly and allowing himself time to process everything that took place.
