The Weekend Recap: PnB Rock Updates, Lewd Behaviors, Black Love and More

    Weekend Entertainment Recap: October 3rd

As the weekend kicked off, new details surrounding the fatal shooting of rapper PnB Rock were released. A federal fugitive task force took 40-year-old Freddie Lee Trone into custody along with his wife,  38-year-old wife, Shauntel Trone and 17-year-old son. The trio was charged for their involvement in the robbery and death of the rapper at a South Los Angeles Roscoe’s House of Chicken ’N Waffles. The teenage suspect remains in police custody and is expected to make an appearance next month while it is unclear when his father is scheduled for an extradition hearing.

Football free agent and wide receiver, Antonio Brown, may find himself answering police questions after a resurfaced video of him has stirred up social media users. Footage obtained by the New York Post shows the athlete completely naked in a pool and jumping around while an unidentified woman is standing right by him.

The video shows him lifting the woman and even dunking her in the water. The footage is believed to have been taken at the Armani Hotel in Dubai in the spring. The New York Post reported that witnesses claimed the woman was upset over the incident although any consequences or follow-ups remain unknown at this time.

A similar case of inappropriate behavior has led critics to rapper and podcast personality, Joe Budden. The rapper revealed on an episode of “The Joe Budden Podcast,” that he’s previously faked putting condoms on during sex. The show’s co-hosts laughed at the statements although one person did call him a “sicko” in a seemingly joking way. However, the comments quickly sparked controversy and the episode has been removed from all streaming platforms.

Of course, critics noted that the actions can have legal implications (if the stealthing occurs in California) and called out the 42-year-old commentator for his tasteless remarks.

Despite all of the lewd antics that surfaced this weekend, there was a bit of Black Love mixed in. Megan Thee Stallion took to social media to blush over the romantic yet spooky date night her boo, Pardison Fontaine, put together for her. The Halloween-inspired setup included a skeleton, decorative tees and pillows and a plethora of snacks. The H-Town Hottie wanted to watch Hocus Pocus 2 and Pardi made sure to set the tone.

However, these two were not the only couple in bliss.

While Jamaican artist Vybz Kartel continues to fight for his freedom, he decided to take up the fight while having a wife by his side. Kartel got engaged to a Turkish social worker, Sidem Ozturk, according to Fox 5 NY. They began speaking in 2015 and met for the first time during a jailhouse visit in 2019. The social worker relocated from London to Jamaica in an effort to be closer to Kartel. Vybz Kartel is expected to learn the fate of his legal standing pertaining to his murder conviction by the end of 2022.

Actress, singer and director, Keke Palmer, also helped to add positivity to the weekend by announcing the launch of her new digital network, KeyTV. Palmer released a video on Instagram to introduce the platform to fans and she plans on being able to unlock doors for new generations of content creators and talents.

The 29-year-old has been acting since she was a child and noted in her post: “Sharing the keys to the culture is my greatest gift – this is for you & for us, from me.” The new network is picking up traction as it now has a following of more than 34,000 on Instagram.
