Kalani Brown
Height: 6-foot-7
Weight: 245 Pounds
School: Baylor
Father: P.J. Brown
Brown’s father, P.J., spent the majority of his career as an enforcer for some of the best defensive teams of the ’90s and 2000s. While Kalani also knows her way around the paint as a defensive anchor, the former Baylor Bear is also a potent offensive threat. In her senior year, she lead the team in points and was second in rebounds and blocks. Her stellar season earned her unanimous honors as 1st team All-Big 12 and Big 12 Player of the Year while leading the Bears to a national championship.
The 6-foot-7 center now takes her talents to the WNBA, where she was selected 7th overall by the Los Angeles Sparks in the 2019 draft. With star forward Candace Parker expected to miss at least the first two weeks of the regular season with a hamstring injury, the Sparks will need Brown to make an immediate impact in the frontcourt alongside key acquisition Chiney Ogwumike.
