    Black Excellence at the 2019 U.S. Open

    Black excellence will be on full display when some of the world’s top Tennis players take the court at this year’s U.S. Open in Flushing-Meadows, N.Y. This year’s field of competitors includes some familiar faces like six-time Women’s champion Serena Williams, reigning champion Naomi Osaka and French veteran Gael Monfils. But an impressive group of youngsters, led by American phenom Cori “Coco” Gauff, will also be looking to make a name for themselves at this year’s event. 

    Here’s your guide to all of the black tennis players to watch during the tournament.
