Cole Anthony
Height: 6-foot-3
Weight: 185 Pounds
School: North Carolina
Father: Greg Anthony
The son of former Knicks first-round pick Greg Anthony comes into what likely be his only college season as the most heralded player to come out of New York since Sebastian Telfair went straight to the pros out of Lincoln High School. Before completing his senior year of High School at national power Oak Hill Academy, Anthony was part of a long line of prodigious point guards to attend Archbishop Molloy in Queens —a list that includes the likes of Kenny Anderson, Kenny Smith and Russ Smith.
While the North Carolina commit’s father was primarily known for his defense, the younger Anthony has everything an NBA team would want from an offensive lead guard. Possessing a slick handle, sweet shooting stroke and court vision to match, Anthony has all the tools to be a star guard at the next level. He was a standout in the High School All-Star game circuit, where he earned MVP honors in both the McDonald’s and Jordan Brand All-American games.
With UNC losing Nassir Little and Coby White to this year’s NBA draft, the team is set up for Anthony take over as an immediate impact player come this fall.
