DJ Akademiks’ Court Documents Hit Social Media

Back in May of earlier this year, the news that DJ Akademiks, born Livingston Allen, was being sued by a woman he used to date, Fauziya ‘Ziya’ Abashe, for sexual assault and defamation. Even though the news of the alleged rape came out in May, the details of the actual suit are gaining new attention, and DJ Akademiks might finally get schooled about how he treats women.  In the suit, she also alleges that Akademiks allowed two of his friends to sexually assault her after they drugged her and plied her with alcohol.

Akademiks, who also moonlights as Drake’s left testicle cleaner, vehemently denied the allegations and went on social media to accuse the woman of lying and inferring that she was a prostitute.

Even though video surveillance footage of a woman screaming in the background while a man who appears to be Akademiks walks away from her loud and desperate pleas for mercy.  The suit includes graphic images, which are still shots from surveillance footage of the victim lying on the concrete near a pool chair, with both of Akademiks friends at opposite ends of her body. The suit also contains pictures of Abashe’s back and appendages with visible abrasions and bruising, which are, as the suit points out, injuries that would be too difficult for someone to sustain consensually. One picture shows scrapes along her spine that are consistent with her claims of being dragged across concrete back into the house where she was raped by the men again.

Abashe also alleges that after his friends raped her, she woke up with him on top of her attempting to penetrate her anally as well as vaginally—his semen was found inside of her after a rape kit was administered.

The text messages between Allen and Abashe after the alleged incident occurred are just as damning, with Allen advising Abashe to get tested and Abashe stating she was going to get a rape kit and that she never even met one of the men who assaulted her. Allen never accuses her of lying about being assaulted in the text message exchange.

Additionally, according to the suit, Abashe said she was urged by several women whom she did not know to continue seeking justice against Allen, who allegedly also sexually assaulted them as well.

DJ Akademiks has a history of mistreating women, as he was caught on tape verbally assaulting another woman he dated in a threatening and aggressive manner. There is also video footage of him stating that he does not see much difference between a 21-year-old and a 17-year-old, other than one is a minor and one is not a minor, which would actually be the difference he did not see.  He stated most specifically that a 17-year-old with a college ID “she’s gone get this dick.” He was 31 at the time of the post. In a follow-up video, he clarifies his statements, saying that college has become a gray area because people do not ask for IDs. He then uses the example of people dating each other in high school.

DJ Akademiks is a professional follower who happened to become popular. While publicly defaming the woman, who has very good evidence of him setting her up to be raped, he also mentioned that if he goes down for sexual assault, he will be taking the rap community with him.  That’s crazy.  If you are privy to sexual assault, you have just decided to stay silent about it, unless you get in trouble for it too?

Some people say DJ Akademiks looks like the mouse Jerry from Tom & Jerry, and some would say his only speaking up about sexual assault if he gets punished for it is the ultimate rat-like behavior; either way, let’s hope this rodent gets put in a cage where he belongs.
