Wisconsin at Michigan 10/13
While Penn State is one of the teams looking to rise to the top of the Big 10, Wisconsin and Michigan both should be favorites to take over the mantle in the conference. Wisconsin comes into the season with an offensive line that could have five high NFL draft picks next Spring, and running back Jonathan Taylor, who broke the freshman record for rushing yards. Taylor enters this season as a Heisman Trophy favorite.
Michigan hopes transfer Shea Patterson is the catalyst that transforms the Wolverine offense from a unit that only occasionally mustered points between defensive stops into a machine that can carry Maize and Blue against the tough competition in the Big Ten. The former Ole Miss quarterback is cut from a different cloth than recent Michigan passers, and the offense has been quietly assembling a ton of talent at the skill positions and on the offensive line. The defense is already poised to be among the best in the country, with potential first-round talent at every level. The winner of this game will have a real chance to challenge for a conference title.
