Mace recently she received what she characterized as “flirty” text messages from Dyson. The revelation followed a heated debate on CNN regarding Vice President Kamala Harris, sparking a public spat between the two.
The incident occurred during a recent panel, where another guest joined Mace and Dyson. Tensions escalated when Mace mispronounced Harris’ name, spurring Dyson to respond sharply, indicating that the misstep was symbolic of a broader “history and legacy of white disregard for the humanity of Black people.”
The discussion quickly deteriorated into a contentious back-and-forth, with both participants speaking over each other. At one point, Mace implied that Dyson had effectively accused her of being racist. However, following the broadcast, the tone of their interaction shifted dramatically. According to Mace, Dyson later sent her a series of lighthearted text messages, including photographs of the two together on set. “Shh, don’t tell anybody. We look good together!” Dyson wrote, accompanied by laughing and kissing emojis. Mace noted that Dyson also complimented her appearance, referring to her “gorgeousness.”
This post-show communication has since fueled further online debate as the exchange’s political and personal dimensions continue to blur in the public eye.
