Prince’s Estate Unveils 2 Previously Unreleased Tracks As Part of Vault Series

The estate of legendary artist Prince recently released two new songs from the late musician’s vault.

As part of the growing Prince Vault Series, the two new songs include a remix of Prince’s song “7” from Prince and the New Power Generation’s 1992 “Love Symbol.” Titled “7 (E Flat Version),” the track is in a different key and features different vocals. The other track, titled “All A Share Together Now,” was originally recorded in 2006; the track has not been released in any form prior to this latest drop.

According to a press release for the newly released tracks, more unreleased music will be announced next month by the Prince estate.

Now available on streaming services such as Spotify, the songs first debuted at the Paisley Park Celebration held last month.  Guests at the event were given the tracks in special cassette-shaped USB keys to listen to.

Held from June 8 to June 11 in Minnesota, the Paisley Park Celebration 2023 also featured a variety of panels, events and performances in honor of the musician. Collaborator Chaka Khan, Shelby J, members of the New Power Generation, Chuck D, D-Nice, Doug E. Fresh and DJ Rashida were among the famous faces that participated in the celebrations.

As the seventh year it was held, the Paisley Park Celebration held increased importance this year, according to the Prince estate.

“The number 7 was incredibly important to Prince, who was born on June 7, 1958, and would reference the number in significant ways throughout his immense body of work, including his song ‘7,’” said the Prince estate in an official press release. “This year marks 7 years of uplifting Prince’s legacy and carefully preserving his prolific artistic output and his creative sanctuary.”

Throughout the course of over four decades, the musician helped pioneer multiple genres as one of the best-selling artists of all time. Specializing in genres from pop to rock to funk, the legendary artist became noted for his stage presence, musical diversity as well as his roles as a vocalist, producer and multi-instrumentalist.  In 1978, Prince began his career when he released his first album, “For You”; at the age of 19, he played all the instruments on the album and became the “youngest record producer in Warner Bros. history” thus far. Throughout his career, he would go on to record and release over 40 studio albums and five live albums amongst numerous compilation albums.

Known as one of the best musicians of all time, Prince’s awards include seven Grammys out of 38 nominations and three inductions into the Grammy Hall of Fame. In his career, the legendary artist also won one Academy Award, one Golden Globe Award, a BET Lifetime Achievement Award and an induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
