The Mino Did Not Marry and Were Mostly Chaste
Members of the Mino, which numbered between 1,000-6,000 women by the mid-1800s, were not allowed to have children or marry. They were technically and legally married to the king, but many were virgins. They held a semi-sacred status in society.
