Tiafoe’s Twin Brother Also Plays Tennis
While Frances has earned much of the spotlight in his family, Franklin has proven to be a formidable player, as well.
Franklin was a high school star at the DC-area sports powerhouse DeMatha Catholic before playing tennis for Salisbury University in Delaware. Franklin honed his skills with Frances while training at youth tennis facility where their father worked day and night shifts.
“Some nights my twin brother, Franklin, and I would even fall asleep on the massage tables at the club while my dad worked all night.” Frances wrote in the Players Tribune.
“I remember just being small, hitting on the hitting wall a lot with my brother running around talking to all the members.” Franklin told the Washington Post in regards to growing up at the facility.
Franklin made his debut on the ITF World Tennis Circuit last summer but has yet to win a match in his first three appearances.
