He was an American Phenom on the Youth Scene
Tiafoe’s rise to tennis stardom started during his teenage years. He was ranked near the top of his age group throughout his youth career.
At just 15 years old, Tiafoe was the youngest player to win the prestigious Orange Bowl—an 18-and-under international tennis tournament. Past champions include Grand Slam winners Andy Roddick, Roger Federer, John McEnroe and Bjorn Borg. He would go on to win another highly prominent youth tournament, the Easter Bowl, months later.
Tiafoe turned pro after winning the USTA Junior National championship. At 17, he became the first tennis player to sign with Jay-Z’s Roc Nation in 2015.
