Tennessee lawmaker Rep. Dennis Powers introduced House Bill 1245 to add death by firing squad as a method of execution in the state. Last week, the bill was amended to offer inmates on death row a different execution method. HB1245 was originally a death-by-electrocution bill. Rep. Paul Sherrell added to the controversy when he agreed with the bill— suggesting lynching as another possible execution method.
