Former President Donald Trump declared himself a savior of the Christian faith, reasoning that any Christians who vote for President Joe Biden in the upcoming election are somewhat unstable.
“How any Christian can vote for a Democrat, Christian or person of faith, person of faith — how you can vote for a Democrat is crazy. It’s crazy,” Trump said at the National Religious Broadcasters (NRB) International Christian Media Convention in Nashville.
At the convention, the former president, who last week was ordered to pay $355 million plus interest after being found liable for conspiring to manipulate his net worth.
“Remember, every communist regime throughout history has tried to stamp out the churches, just like every fascist regime has tried to co-opt them and control them,” Trump said as the audience cheered on. “And, in America, the radical left is trying to do both.”

Forty-four percent of all registered voters in the U.S. are white Christians, while 7% are Black Protestants and 5% are Hispanic Catholics.
“They want to tear down crosses where they can, and cover them up with social justice flags,” Trump added. “But no one will be touching the cross of Christ under the Trump administration, I swear to you.”
Trump, who has historically used immigration to stoke fear in the hearts of his support base, alleges that religion is under attack from the far left.
In 2020, Trump garnered strong support from white evangelical Protestants, while Black Protestants and the religiously unaffiliated backed the Democratic candidate and eventual winner, per a Pew Reseach Center Study. Overall, 59% of voters who frequently attend religious services voted for Trump, while 40% chose Biden.
Trump is the GOP frontrunner and will almost certainly go head-to-head with Biden next year. After announcing the launch of his sneakers (a perceived attempt to appeal to Black voters), the billionaire businessman is proving he will do whatever it takes to get back into the White House, no matter how cringe-worthy his efforts may be.
“I will create a new federal task force on fighting anti-Christian bias. It’s become a very big term anti-Christian bias. Not believable that you have a term like that, is it? When you think about it, it’s like, where did that come from? And it’s very, very recent phenomena,” he said. “Its mission will be to investigate all forms of illegal discrimination, harassment and persecution against Christians in America.”
