Lurie Daniel Favors Unveils a Powerful New Podcast on the Women’s Empowerment Network

Lurie Daniel Favors’ new and much anticipated podcast, “Lurie Breaks It Down,” debuted on the Women’s Empowerment Network on Monday, March 3.

“Here we connect the dots and we fill in the knowledge gaps that you may not have even known that you had,” she shares in the podcast trailer. “In every episode, I’ll be bringing you some sharp analysis, real conversations and dialogue with some fascinating guests all to help us uncover the full picture. There’s no fluff, there’s no soundbites. There’s just the context and the clarity that you need to understand what’s really going on.”

Favors is also the host of the “Lurie Daniel Favors Show” which airs live Monday through Fridays from 10 AM to 12 PM EST on SiriusXM’s Urban View Radio airwaves. Similar to her live show, which tackles issues “at the messy intersection where race, gender, culture, identity, politics and the law collide,”

Favors plans to dive deeper into concepts around race, politics and more with this new podcast.

Favors has steered a powerful racial and social justice career as early as her college years, when she studied law at Penn State. There, she helped kickstart a non-profit focused on bringing Black students together to have the necessary dialogue to get on the same page around discrimination and justice, and also to empower one another. Favors has served as executive director of the Center For Law and Social Justice at Medgar Evers College since January, 2022. She is constantly on the go, in pursuit of bettering the lives of those historically marginalized.

Over her four years on the radio, Favors has charmed her audience with her charismatic wit, upbeat energy and masterful work of slaying internet trolls with endless receipts of information. Over the past four months, her YouTube channel has grown from 5,000 subscribers to almost 50,000, showcasing her as a powerhouse voice to be reckoned with. However, this is just a fraction of her work that proves her credibility in the media industry and social justice space.

“Lurie Breaks It Down” is the latest addition to the Women’s Empowerment Network’s array of podcasts. The network also hosts “Karen Hunter is Awesome” with the esteemed radio host and publisher Karen Hunter; “Financially Speaking” with finance experts such as Dr. Tonya Evans, Dr. Tisa Silver Canady and Jacquette Timmons, and “Human(ing) Well” with ultimate life coach Amber Cabral.

Evidently, WEN is full of powerhouse female voices. The network plans to expand further by gradually adding more dynamic voices to the mix with podcasts focused on different areas of life. The purpose of the platform is to invigorate listeners with helpful and informative information to empower the global majority, and “Lurie Breaks It Down” is doing just that!

“Lurie Breaks It Down” airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 9 AM EST, and can be listened to on all major streaming platforms.
