Jada Pinkett Smith is about to place her personal life under the microscope once again, revealing she is gearing up to release a tell-all memoir about her life.
According to a press release, Pinkett Smith will dive deep into “lessons learned in the course of a difficult but riveting journey.”
The book will chronicle her “rollercoaster ride from the depths of suicidal depression to the heights of personal rediscovery and the celebration of authentic feminine power.”
Pinkett Smith’s marriage has frequently been thrust into the spotlight over recent years. First, her dalliance with young singer, August Alsina, became mainstream news. Alsina alleged he had an affair with Pinkett Smith with her husband’s blessing.
The couple then took to Pinkett Smith’s Red Table Talk, where she confirmed the allegations, adding that she and Smith were separated at the time.
Her award-winning actor husband recently faced backlash for slapping Chris Rock at the Oscars. In July, Smith returned to the public eye with an apology video.
“It’s all fuzzy,” Smith said. “I’ve reached out to Chris and the message that came back is that he’s not ready to talk and when he is, he will reach out so I will say to you Chris, I apologise to you. My behaviour was unacceptable and I’m here whenever you’re ready to talk.”
Rock refused to accept his apology video, referring to it as a “hostage video.”
No doubt, Pinkett Smith will address the media frenzy in her memoir.
“With no holds barred, Jada reveals her unconventional upbringing in Baltimore — from the child of two addicts to a promising theatre student and a violent interlude as a petty drug-dealer — followed by a parallel rise to stardom alongside her close friend 2Pac, then falling in love with and marrying Will Smith, and a joyous embrace of motherhood,” the release adds.
