The 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence ended without the broad national conversation many expected. Instead, white nationalist politics narrowed the country’s memory and imagination.

“In Class With Carr” has challenged “250” as the center of history through an Africana Studies lens. The deeper question is not only what happened in 1776 or 1865, but why those dates define how we understand time, belonging and community.
Can this season of endings help us build a better collective future?
