The Hub: Which NBA players have been most helpful in guiding you through your rookie year?
Watanabe: Everybody is really nice and they’re all friendly. But Mike (Conley) is our leader and he’s been with this team for a long time. He gives us a lot of advice. He’s kind of the guy that’s helped teach me. I also spend a lot of time with the other rookies, like J.J. (Jaren Jackson Jr.) and Jevon (Carter).
The Hub: What do you like to do on your off-time? What do you do for fun?
Watanabe: Umm, I don’t know. I don’t really do anything off the court actually (laughs). I play basketball, come back to my room, take a nap, maybe watch some Netflix and then I come back here (to practice). I like comedies. While I’m not watching it right now, I like watching “The Office” a lot. It’s funny.
