Las Vegas police announced the arrest of a man in connection with the fatal shooting of Los Angeles rapper and activist Tupac Shakur this afternoon.
The arrest comes 27 years after Shakur was gunned down on the Las Vegas Strip.
The late rapper had attended a boxing match with Suge Knight in Vegas. He was traveling in a black sedan on Las Vegas Boulevard when a white Cadillac pulled up and opened fire.
According to the Associated Press, Duane “Keffe D” Davis was arrested early Friday morning. An indictment is expected sometime this afternoon.

In July, the police searched a home in the Las Vegas area in connection with the case. Officers seized several electronic devices, including iPads and computers, a “Vibe” magazine with Shakur on the cover and copies of Davis’ book, “Compton Street Legend.” They also recovered .40 caliber ammunition.
“LVMPD can confirm a search warrant was served in Henderson, Nevada on July 17, 2023, as part of the ongoing Tupac Shakur homicide investigation,” Las Vegas police said in a statement. “We will have no further comment at this time.”
Davis has been very candid in the past about being inside the white Cadillac, which pulled up alongside Shakur’s sedan. In a 2018 interview. Davis stated that his nephew, Orlando “Baby Lane” Anderson, was one of two backseat passengers.
The exact charges have not been released. A press conference is expected to be held at 12:30 p.m. local time on Friday.
