Racism blinds them from protecting their identity.
Racists think their antics carry no consequence, but they’re all learning that eventually do, and the latest in the fool who targeted LA Sparks’ player Dearica Hamby.
A little over a week ago, an employee of Acclaro Medical somehow got Hamby’s cell number and decided to send her a racist text message.
But like a true idiot, the racist’s hate blinded them for the fact that their phone number was listed on the text, so Hamby let everyone know about it.

“Anyone know this number?” asked Hamby to her 47,000+ followers, and it didn’t take long for the answers to flood in.
After a reverse search of the number, social media alerted their employer about the post, the culprit was suspended and the company issued a statement.
“Acclaro Medical is aware of the deeply disturbing situation on social media,” said the company in a statement shared with USA TODAY Sports. “… Acclaro Medical sympathizes with everyone who has been affected by this situation. The Company takes this matter extremely seriously and is conducting a thorough investigation.”
The company went on to say that it “it condemns racism, harassment, hate speech and discriminating behavior in all forms” and the vile remarks “do not in any way reflect the values and standards of the Company.”
But that type of harassment wasn’t going to fly, so today we learned that the suspended racist was terminated by Acclaro Medical on Tuesday, September 1st.
It’s a fitting punishment for a coward who thought they were going to just say what they wanted to without consequence.
On Wednesday, the WNBA issued a statement on the situation, reiterating its stance against hate.
“The WNBA stands unequivocally with Dearica Hamby and condemns the racist abuse directed at her in the strongest possible terms. We are committed to holding anyone who engages in such abhorrent behavior accountable, and this individual will be permanently banned from all league games and events.”
Unfortunately, this isn’t the first instance of racism that has impacted the league and, unfortunately, the harassment has escalated over the last few months to the point where it’s not only infuriating and disrespectful, but it’s both alarming and utterly embarrassing.
