A’ja Wilson has dominated on the WNBA hardwood and now she’s doing the same at the bank after her new contract.
Wilson’s three-year, fully guaranteed $5 million deal with the Las Vegas Aces makes the 4x WNBA MVP the highest paid player in WNBA history, surpassing the three-year, $3.75 million fully guaranteed deal signed by Ezi Magbegor of the Seattle Storm on Sunday.

The deal starts at $1.4 million in 2026 and, per The Athletic, reaches more than $4.7 million with “maximum raises”. This is pleasantly shocking, and rightfully deserved, increase over the $200,000 Wilson made in 2025 through a two-year, $400,000 deal.
Wilson joins Indiana’s Kelsey Mitchell as players who have signed supermax deals in the 2026, but, thanks to her agent Jade-Li English of Klutch Sports, Wilson is the only supermax player with a multi-year deal.
Even more impressive is the fact that if the salary cap increases in the 2027 and 2028 season, her history-making contract could exceed the aforementioned $4.7 million.
If there’s anyone that deserves this type of deal, it’s Wilson.
Since being selected by the Aces with the number one overall pick in the 2018 WNBA Draft, the former South Carolina star has done nothing but dominate.
She’s won Rookie of the Year, led the team to three WNBA titles, won two Finals MVPs, is 7x All-Star, a 3x Defensive Player of the Year and 2x league scoring champ. She has averaged 21.4 ppg, 9.3 rpg and 2.3 apg over her career and over the last two seasons, she’s averaged a double-double (25.1 ppg, 11.1 rpg).
And last last season, where she won her third league title, Wilson also made history by winning her fourth league MVP, passing WNBA legends Sheryl Swoopes, Lisa Leslie and Lauren Jackson, who each won the award three times.
