With the holiday season already underway, many are rushing to stores to get the last of their gift-wrapping needs for the last few presents set to make their way under the tree.

Here are five Black-owned gift-wrapping companies to support as the last of the Christmas gifts begin to roll in.

    1. Mah Melanin: Mah Melanin offers consumers a variety of products ranging from mugs to notebooks to blankets. Along with Weekender bags and holiday hoodies, the company has gift wrapping paper dedicated to celebrating Black culture. Popular products include the “Home for the Holidays” multipack, which features Black Santa Claus, Mrs. Claus and the North Pole Elves, and the “Let’s Celebrate” gift wrap wrapping paper.

    1. Greentop Gifts: Founded in 2016 by Jacquelyn Rodgers, Greentop Gifts all started because the now CEO was unable to find wrapping paper that featured a Black Santa to wrap her two-year-old son’s Christmas present in. Now celebrated by a variety of magazines including Essence, Blavity and People, the company’s products are available in Target, Macy’s, Amazon and Sam’s Club. Popular items include the original “Clarence Claus Gift Wrap,” the “Hallelujah Black Angel Gift Wrap” and the “Gingerbread Gift Wrap.”

    1. UNWRP: Created by Ashley L. Fouyolle, UNWRP blends her interest in art, fashion, colors and patterns to create sustainable wrapping papers, cards and home goods. Available on their website with prices ranging from $6, popular gift wrapping includes the “Glow Rift Gift Wrap,” the “Serpent’s Paradise Gift Wrap” and the “Sunset Blossoms Gift Wrap.”

    1. Culture Greetings: Founded by Dionne Mahaffey, Culture Greetings primarily aims to celebrate Black people’s art and voice through greeting cards. The company has since expanded to include gift wrap. Centered around African art-inspired prints, products include the “Zane” gift wrap, the “In The Beginning” gift wrap, the “A Wonderful Black Life” gift wrap and the “Homeland” gift wrap.
    1. Makena Prints: Makena Prints is a Black-owned, women-led small business based in Birmingham. Founded by Kern Nene, the company began because of the lack of representation Nene was exposed to by retail stores. Motivated to represent every culture in the Diaspora, Makena Prints offers a variety of products with a focus on wrapping paper and gift bags. As of now, the company has multiple top sellers, including the “Affirmations Gift Wrap,” the “Angels Gift Wrap” and the “Karamu Gift Wrap.”
