Randy Moss Reveals That He Is Battling Cancer

“Your boy is a cancer survivor.”

Earlier this month, fans were worried that Pro Football Hall of Famer and ESPN personality Randy Moss was going through something serious after he announced that he was stepping away from Sunday Night Countdown.

On Friday afternoon, Moss revealed on IG Live that he was diagnosed with cancer, had surgery, spent six days in the hospital and is now home recovering.

“Your boy is a cancer survivor,” said Moss on IG Live while surrounded by his sons. “Some trying times, but we made it through.”

According to Moss, doctors, thankfully, found cancer in his bile duct “between the pancreas and the liver,” and that he had the surgery on Thanksgiving but went on air to announce that he would be stepping away as he was “battling something internal.”

Speculation arose but fans, colleagues and the football community as a whole only wished him the best and waited until he was ready to let everyone know what was wrong.

But journalist Larry Fitzgerald Sr., father of legendary receiver Larry Fitzgerald, posted on X that he heard Moss had been diagnosed with liver cancer, something some had wondered after seeing Moss on ESPN with sunglasses on.

Moss’ son Thaddeus blasted the report and Fitzgerald Sr. for making “private matters public for the sake of engagement.”

On IG Live, Moss thanked the prayer warriors, his ESPN colleagues, teammates, fans, the medical staff, teams, “true Moss fans” and everyone else who sent him well wishes.

“I am a cancer survivor, but we made it through.”

    Get better soon Randy!
