Watch Couples Determine If It Is Time to ‘Put a Ring on It’ With the Popular OWN Series

The Hub Entertainment Watch List: Put a Ring on it

How would you know if it was time for you and your beloved to make things official and put a ring on it? The Oprah Winfrey Network decided to put that question to the test with the series, Put A Ring On It. The series premiered in 2020 and has had three additional seasons since its debut.

While there are a plethora are dating shows to pick from, Put A Ring On It is unique because it goes against traditional monogamous concepts. Each week the couples are pushed outside their comfort zones by going on dates, but they are going on dates with people outside of their relationship. The show pushes the couples to determine how strong their relationship is or if it is time for them to separate and explore new love connections.

The brave couples featured on the premiere season were Ashley and Hollywood; Ché and Michael; and Tamika and Vince. The second set of couples consisted of Alexia and Darion; LaRhonda and Jay; and Jessica and Eric. Viewers were introduced to Shay and Alfonzo; Charlie and Otis; and Shorty and Kenneth when the show kicked off its third season.

Season four – which witnessed multiple plot twists – featured couples Joya and Jasha; Dunbar and Chance; and Ricky and Catherine. However for the first time in the show’s history, one of the couples opted to drop out of the sessions to work on their issues without the help of the relationship guru. Dunbar and Chance were later replaced by Jasmine and Zay.

Many people (unless you are pro-polygamy of course) would stray away from allowing their spouse to court other people, but in this series it is mandatory. Luckily, the couples are guided by top relationship experts throughout the process. The specialist who guided the couples from season one to three is Dr. Nicole LaBeach and viewers were introduced to Dr. Stacii Jae Johnson in the fourth season.

Will Packer, Kelly Smith and Anthony Sylvester serve as executive producers of the series. Interested viewers can binge-watch all four seasons with access to OWN or with subscriptions to streaming platforms including FuboTV, Amazon Prime Video and Hulu Premium.
