The Hub Entertainment Watch List: Celebrity Prank Wars

No one is safe from being pranked in Kevin Hart and Nick Cannon’s latest joint project. The duo hosts Celebrity Pranks War which debuted on E! back in April. Throughout the season, viewers get to see Hart and Cannon go back and forth as they get fellow celebrities to “plan some of the biggest, wildest and most viral pranks,” according to the network.

Kevin Hart and Nick Cannon have always shared a comedic connection which helped to birth the idea for the series. It began with a prank initiated by Cannon when he sent Hart a llama as a birthday present. Hart decided to heighten the stakes and retaliated by taking out billboards in several significant cities that revealed Cannon’s cell phone number. Inspired by the pranks, the comedic duo decided to seize the opportunity and turn it into a television show.

The two even managed to pull a prank on the public before the show aired with the clip selected to be the series teaser. It gained a lot of buzz on social media after a clip was released and featured a game show scene with women competing to mother a child by Cannon. E! later revealed that it was only a prank and an introduction to what could be expected from the show. Veteran television watchers are likely to be reminded of the popular series, Punk’d, which was hosted by Ashton Kutcher in the early 2000s. However, Hart and Cannon put their spin on the show by making it a competition between them. The best prank is decided by the two hosts and the host with better pranks is dubbed the prank master.

Viewers can expect to see various celebrities appear in the 10-episode opening season. The first episode kicks off with the two hosts trying to pull pranks on each other but the following episodes focus on their industry peers. Tiffany Haddish, Brie Bella, Nikki Bella, Lil Duval, Big E, Fantasia, Lil Jon, Kofi Kingston, Ludacris, Taraji P. Henson, Joel McHale, Killer Mike, Chance the Rapper, T-Pain, Robin Thicke, T.I., Anthony Anderson and Xavier Woods are all victims of celebrity prank wars.

Celebrity Prank Wars is produced by Hartbeat and NCredible, and both Hart and Cannon serve as executive producers on the series. Interested viewers can check out the show with access to E! or the Peacock streaming app.
