The start of Uncle Waithley’s Beverage Company’s StartEngine Regulation Crowdfunding raise is creating waves in the specialized soda and carbonated beverage categories.
Uncle Waithley’s Vincy Brew stands out because it is currently the only Black-owned Caribbean ginger beer on the American market that contains Scotch Bonnet pepper. The small-batch non-alcoholic carbonated ginger beer, created by nationally renowned mixologist Karl Franz Williams, was influenced by Williams’ grandpa, who spent his entire life on the island of St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
Uncle Waithley’s Vincy Brew is an all-natural beverage made with lime, mineral water, ginger, turmeric, pepper, and the Scotch Bonnet pepper, which is valued for its flavor and heat in the Caribbean and Africa. The beverage is not only a cool standalone libation but also a perfect mixer for enhancing the taste of ginger in mocktails and cocktails.
Uncle Waithley’s Vincy Brew has rapidly become the store’s fastest-selling ginger beer since its early 2022 debut at Whole Foods Market in Harlem, prompting an October expansion into 14 additional Whole Foods sites. By the end of February 2023, all 56 Northeast sites hope to have merchandise available. In addition to extending its online presence beyond Amazon to include Boisson, Reserve Bar, and Minibar, Uncle Waithley’s Vincy Brew is also rapidly growing its on-premise account list, which currently numbers more than 40 accounts.
Williams has more than 17 years of expertise working in the hospitality industry, so she is knowledgeable about fine drinks. He has contributed his knowledge to Pepsi and Procter & Gamble’s brand management, marketing, and creative teams. This puts him in a good situation to introduce flavor enthusiasts worldwide to this distinctive ginger beer experience.
