The visionary behind Spark Bites is Warren Brown. Warren left a successful career as a lawyer with the Department of Health and Human Services in 2000 to pursue his passion for nutrition and baking. Before starting Spark Bites in 2017, he was a former host of Sugar Rush on Food Network. Warren has also authored numerous cookbooks and has been recognized on CNN, NPR, The Oprah Winfrey Show and The Today Show and in numerous publications.
Spark Bites come in five flavors — Cinnamon Crunch, Mumbai Masala, Coffee, Cocoa and Red Beet. The favorite I sampled was the Cinnamon Crunch flavor. When you open the package, there is a distinct smell of cinnamon and each bite has the consistency of a granola bar. The bites themselves are firm on the outside and soft on the inside. From the first bite, there is an immediate crunch from the chia seeds and what follows is the taste of sweetness that compliments the flavor of all of the nutritious ingredients. The main ingredients are oats, rice flour, chia, agave, cranberries, cinnamon, millet and pineapple. Additional ingredients in the snacks include pumpkin seeds, chickpea flour, apples and cane sugar.
