Beauty products purchases are expected to go up during the holiday season., according to a report by data research group NPD.

In an article, the company reported that 28% of all customers involved in their NPD Holiday Purchase Intentions Report said that they’ll be gifting beauty products during this holiday season.

Here are five Black-owned beauty brands to support during this gift-giving season.

    1. Dehiya Beauty: Created by Dr. Mia Chae Reddy in collaboration with Jacalyn Havard, the brand, named after a woman considered as one of the strongest warriors in the North African region, pays homage to Dr. Reddy’s Moroccan ancestry. Using what she learned under a Moroccan herbalist, Dr. Reddy and her team create skin products, such as their “Aya Restorative Goddess Mask” and their “Alia Argen Beldi Cleaner,” using completely natural products like argan oil, ethically taken from Morocco’s Argan Forest.

In addition to making sure that their natural sources are chemical and paraben-free, Dehiya also focuses on being inclusive and fighting for causes like curing cancer, supporting the LGBTQ community and ensuring that there’s racial justice. Each year, the company devotes 2% of their earnings to charitable causes.
