Streaming platform Audiomack has donated $5,000 worth of tablets and headsets (40 learning sets) to support the Slum2School initiative in Africa.
Slum2School, founded in 2012, is a volunteer-driven development organization working tirelessly to empower underserved children in slums and remote communities with quality education.
Since 2012 the organization has helped more than 174,000 children.
“We are glad to collaborate with Audiomack who shares in our vision to transform the society by empowering underserved children in slums and remote communities with quality education,” said Otto Orondaam, founder of Slum2School Africa. “We also call on individuals and organizations to support this cause and help make an impact in Nigeria’s educational development.”
The organization works directly with communities to design and roll out community impact programs uniquely catered to meet their needs, ensuring children have access to quality education.
“While the coronavirus pandemic has impacted all aspects of our lives including the education sector, we recognize the increased gap on children from underprivileged communities as they are unable to access quality education and learning materials,” said Charlotte Bwana, Head of Business Development and Media Partnerships for Audiomack Africa.
“This donation demonstrates our efforts to bridge this gap because we are committed to fostering a world where everyone has the opportunity to learn and prosper.”
Last month, Audiomack celebrated Women’s History Month with two donations of $2,000 each to Black women-led and woman-supporting organizations Girls Who Listen and Pretty Girls Sweat.
“The journey has been long and hard since 2011 when we vowed to develop young leaders through fitness,” said Pretty Girls Sweat founder Aeshia DeVore Branch said at the time.
“Monetary support coupled with awareness from Audiomack helps us continue to provide the most digestible health education in communities that don’t have access. Like Audiomack, we value the importance of providing a platform for youth to make positive life choices. While the social music site empowers creatives through music, we uplift women who use music as a vehicle to improve their physical and mental health.”
