The Weekend Entertainment Recap: November 28th
Football free agent, Odell Beckham Jr. made headlines on Sunday, but it was not for football. The wide receiver was removed from an American Airlines plane bound for Los Angeles. Officials say crew members attempted to wake him before departure and grew concerned about his state of consciousness. Beckham allegedly refused to exit the aircraft and was escorted out by Miami authorities.
The incident comes days before Beckham is expected to meet with NFL teams including the New York Giants and the Dallas Cowboys. The football player took to social media stating that he has never experienced any like this before.
Music artist Ty Dolla $ign was briefly hospitalized on Saturday following an injury from a skateboarding incident. Hit OWN television show, “Love and Marriage DC” will experience a cast shake-up for the upcoming season two. Season one centered on three couples: Monique and Chris Samuels; Erana and James Tyler; and Dj Quick and Ashley Silva. However, the new season will not include reality tv veterans Chris and Monique. The Jasmine Brand first reported on the split between the show and the Samuels, but it was confirmed with a repost on the show’s Instagram page.
The decision not to film for the second season was said to be made by Chris and Monique. Carlos King, the series executive producer, seemed to be unbothered by the announcement as he took to social media to let the world know “You can’t break my soul.”
While the Samuels won’t be regular faces on Love and Marriage DC, they did make an appearance at the star-studded wedding ceremony of Porsha Williams and Simon Guobadia. The couple held two different ceremonies – one traditional Nigerian native law ceremony and another American ceremony – in Atlanta. Guests included Porsha’s former co-stars Cynthia Bailey, Kandi Burress, Nene Leakes and Drew Sidora. The newlyweds also had a surprise performance from R&B group, Dru Hill.
