Karen Hunter used her SiriusXM Urban View show to call out President Donald Trump for using the presidency to enrich himself and his family, telling listeners, “He doesn’t care to govern.”
“He’s not in it to govern,” Hunter said. “He’s in it to grift.”
Hunter says that Trump has turned the White House into a business opportunity, pointing to “coins,” “phones” and “gold sneakers,” while accusing his family of profiting from his return to power.
“These people are getting rich off of the United States of America because this man is president and he’s not governing,” Hunter told her audience. “All he’s doing is killing people’s children, sending them off to a war nobody asked for and dismantling all vestiges of government.”
Hunter then played a clip from “Truth Has No Party,” which alleged that Trump “sued his own government for $10 billion” and then settled the case for “$1.776 billion” in taxpayer funds. The clip claimed the money would come from the Treasury Judgment Fund and benefit Jan. 6 defendants through an “anti-weaponization fund.”
“Stolen in broad daylight from you, me,” the speaker in the clip said. “This is not politics. This is robbery with a federal seal on it.”
Hunter agreed.
“He’s not wrong,” Hunter continued. “He’s actually right. The fact that it’s 1776, $1.776 billion, that’s on purpose.” She rejected the idea that those tied to Jan. 6 were “wrongfully targeted.”
“No, you were insurrectionists,” Hunter said. “You committed treason, an act of treason.”
A caller named Tony from Louisiana said the situation was “disgusting” and made him want to leave the country. Hunter pushed back.
“The grass is not greener, you just haven’t had to mow it,” she declared before urging her listeners to act, organize and build.
“I’m going to stay here and fight as long as I can,” she added. “We have an opportunity to actually build in this chaos.”
